Layla Williams 1st Female at Oregon Track Club 1 Mile

Fifteen-year-old Tipton runner Layla Williams continued the Stateside theme at Hayward Field, running 5:26 to finish as the fastest female at the Oregon Track Club mile meet.

The Tipton runners Stateside theme continues, with 15-year-old Layla Williams another young Tipton athlete currently in the United States exploring university and athletics scholarship opportunities.

Layla has visited Washington State University in Seattle before moving on to Portland University, and is now staying at the University of Oregon as part of her trip.

On Wednesday 25 June, Layla raced at the iconic Hayward Field — home of TrackTown USA — in the one-mile event at the Oregon Track Club meet.

Representing Tipton on one of the most famous athletics stages in the world, Layla was the fastest female of the meeting, clocking 5:26 for the mile.

It is another excellent Stateside performance from a young Tipton endurance runner gaining experience, testing herself, and exploring the next steps in both education and athletics.
