Michael Banks Storms to New 1500m PB at BMC Trafford Gold Standard Meet

Mikey Banks continued his hot track form with another breakthrough run on 7 July at the BMC Trafford Gold Standard meeting in Manchester.

Running in the A 1500m race, Mikey finished fifth in 3:44.74, with the race won in 3:42 by Norway's Ole Jacob Solbu.

Tipton records indicate this is the fastest 1500m time by a Tipton runner since Ryan McLeod in 2009.

A 3:44 clocking also puts Mikey firmly in the ballpark for a sub-four-minute mile. He will surely get the opportunity to chase that barrier when he returns Stateside, with the added incentive of joining the exclusive sub-four-minute milers club.
